: Storyline :

The story begins with Buzz Lightyear, a brave and duty-bound Space Ranger, leading a mission to explore a distant habitable planet named T’Kani Prime. However, due to an error in judgment, Buzz damages their ship, leaving the entire crew stranded. Determined to make things right, Buzz tests hyperspace fuel to find a way back home. However, each test flight causes him to leap years into the future due to time dilation, while only minutes pass for him.
Over successive missions, Buzz lightyear watches as his crewmates age and live out their lives without him. Eventually, Buzz returns to find the planet under attack by a mysterious army of robots led by the sinister Zurg. With the original Space Rangers gone, Buzz is forced to team up with a group of inexperienced recruits: Izzy Hawthorne, the granddaughter of his old partner Alisha; Mo, a clumsy but determined trainee; Darby, a grumpy elderly explosives expert; and Sox, a highly advanced robotic cat.
Together, this unlikely team faces numerous challenges as they attempt to defeat Zurg and complete Buzz’s mission. In a twist, Zurg is revealed to be an older version of Buzz from an alternate timeline, obsessed with undoing his past mistake by rewriting history. Buzz realizes that true heroism isn’t about fixing the past, but embracing the present and the people in it.
The movie ends with Buzz rejecting Zurg’s plan and choosing instead to stay in the current timeline and train a new generation of Space Rangers. He learns the value of teamwork, growth, and letting go of guilt then Lightyear blends high-concept sci-fi with emotional storytelling and offering a fresh take on a beloved character. Though tonally more mature than Toy Story, it delivers a powerful message about responsibility, identity, and finding purpose.
